Medical Examiner Perjury / Calgary Laboratory Services lab result negotiations / lost reports
Example 1:
-Bamidele testified that the cerebral spinal fluid culture grew gram-negative bacteria.
-Lab reports received by Bamidele showed that no culture was grown in cerebral spinal fluid.
-Bamidele testified that the cerebral spinal fluid culture grew gram-negative bacteria.
-Lab reports received by Bamidele showed that no culture was grown in cerebral spinal fluid.
Example 2:
-Calgary Laboratory Services completed a battery of tests and found no bacteria in the cerebral spinal fluid.
-Within 47 minutes of receiving negative lab results showing no bacteria in the cerebral spinal fluid, the Medical Examiner, Bamidele called Wilson Chan, a microbiologist working at Calgary laboratory services and instructed him to find bacteria.
.
-Wilson Chan revised the negative report to include scant gram-negative bacteria and sent it back to the Medical Examiner's Office.
-An email from Wilson Chan was used to show positive test results for bacteria in the CFS. It was used as a key piece of evidence at trial because the Lab tests were "lost". With the exception of the multiple times lab results were lost in this case, I have never heard of this happening. Medical or Research Labs do not lose test results.
-When the email used in court was requested through FOIP, Calgary Laboratory Services denied its existence.
Original lab report faxed to ME office ^
Note in ME file detailing ME calling lab to have them find bacteria after no bacteria was found in final report ^
Revised report sent to ME after complaints about negative results were brought up^
Email used in court instead of lab report to prove bacterial meningitis. Calgary Laboratory Services claimed that the test results were "lost".
FOIP request for information from Calgary Laboratory Services does not turn over the email communications and claims that they do not have any records of email communications.
